Alpe Pragas Limited Edition: Fruit Spread with Weirouge Apple and Rose Petals
Alpe Pragas creates a very special fruit spread from red Weirouge apples and rose petals – Limited Edition 05 – with wonderful aroma and low sugar content. This Alpe Pragas apple fruit spread uses only Weirouge apples. These red-fleshed apples are grown on the Renon in South Tyrol. Thomas Kohl turns them into a naturally cloudy red mountain apple juice called Rouge. Refined with rose petals and cooked with only a little sugar and apple pectin, the Weirouge variety tastes great in yogurt, on warm waffles, with quark dumplings, or potato pancakes.
In the Dolomites, the Gruber family has been cultivating berries since 1994 at an altitude of approximately 1250 m. In this alpine mountain climate, the fruits ripen longer and thus develop a particularly intense aroma. Great importance is placed on cultivating the fruits as naturally as possible: The seedlings are planted by hand, the fields are weeded several times until harvest, and irrigated with river and spring water from the Dolomites. The Weirouge apple fruit spread in a 220g jar has a fruit content of 75%, gelled only with natural apple pectin.
