Butter Caramel – La Maison d’Armorine

The soft butter caramel candies from La Maison d'Armorine, caramels with salted butter in a wooden box, make a nostalgic gift. The delicate Salidou, or "sweet-salty" caramels, are stirred in copper kettles with fresh French butter, cane sugar, and fleur de sel from Guérande, just like in grandmother's day. With a caramel au beurre salé in your mouth, the day is easily sweetened.

The older ones among us surely remember how, as children, they ran to the milk shop with a similar enameled metal milk churn to fetch milk. Our milk shop was on Monikastraße, the milk came from a tap, and the milk foam tasted wonderfully sweet.

La Maison d’Armorine – Caramels with salted butter

La Maison d'Armorine in Quiberon is one of Brittany's last gourmet paradises. About 70 years ago, founder Raymond Audebert, together with his wife Yvonne, invented the recipe for Salidou, the salted butter caramel. Once honored as "Best Sweets in France," this specialty is now mentioned in France's culinary heritage. La Maison d'Armorine caramels are a homage to times gone by.

A true gourmet heritage that grandson Alain Audebert, in the third generation, passionately preserves and wishes to share with all gourmets. The various caramel specialties are still produced according to old traditions in copper kettles. Decades of proven craftsmanship and the exclusive use of natural products such as cane sugar, sea salt from Guérande, and Breton butter guarantee the unique quality of La Maison d'Armorine butter caramels.
