The Le Jacquard Français Marais Salants Sel tea towel is a French tea towel made from 100% organic cotton. The grey tones of this cloth are reminiscent of the color of Sel Gris, the grey sea salt from Guérande. Woven using the Jacquard method, it has an impressive size of 60x80cm and a woven label for easy hanging in your kitchen.

The Le Jacquard Français tea towel features scenes from the everyday life of a salt farmer in the Guérande region on their salt marshes: an assortment of tools, an iconic heron, and a lighthouse. Heritage, know-how, and natural wealth unite the work of the salt farmers. The color-coordinated border features a characteristic Toile de Jouy pattern.

The Marais Salants - Salt Marshes motif is also available in the color combinations Océan - Ocean Blue and Fleur de Sel - Pink Grey.

The Le Jacquard tea towel can be washed wonderfully at up to 60 degrees, making it truly suitable for everyday use and a great help to you. To preserve its quality, you should avoid using fabric softener and tumble drying, as they are made of combed cotton yarn, which makes them particularly soft and supple. Weaving art à la française – Tradition since 1861

The history of the Le Jacquard Français company dates back to 1861, when Benjamin Baer opened a fabric shop in Gérardmer in the French Vosges mountains. In 1928, his successors, the Nathan Lévy weaving mill, expanded the business to include a bleachery, as white linen was in high demand at the time. In 1968, the company was acquired by the ELIS group, which purchased more than 50 looms for weaving Jacquard fabrics and created the Le Jacquard Français brand. As the quintessence of creative and technical know-how, the tea towels are woven with the greatest care in the textile factory in the Vosges and subsequently sewn there. The products are of excellent quality and are woven from 100% cotton. The combed long fibers result in a supple, very smooth, and durable fabric. The fineness of the silk-soft yarns gives the designs incomparable brilliance and precision.
