Questions about Orange Soda?

We are happy to help you with La Mortuacienne.

Orangeade in a handy format for on the go

Mild orange, low acidity, 0.33 liters with a screw cap. This size fits into any desk drawer and is the most agreeable variety in the range when you need something quick and want to avoid any debate about taste.

The Orange Lemonade from La Mortuacienne brings the company's mildest citrus variety into a small catering bottle. With 8.2 grams of sugar and 33 kilocalories per 100 milliliters, it is even slightly lower in sugar than the one-liter bottle. Round fruit, little acidic edge, a drink without any rough edges.

Soft, juicy, smooth

The aroma is that of a freshly peeled orange, sweet and oily at the same time. Nothing about it is reminiscent of concentrate.

Soft, juicy, friendly – that is how the orange lemonade can be described in three words. The sharp zing provided by the lemon is missing on the palate. The acidity supports rather than stings, and the sweetness remains surprisingly restrained. What lingers is a warm fruity note that persists for a long time.

For people who generally find lemonade too sour or too sweet, this is the variety that is hard to argue with. It doesn't get in anyone's way.

In the glass, it glows a vibrant orange, which is half the battle with children. Adults will appreciate more that it doesn't become cloying after the third sip, but remains fresh.

For the office, for lunch breaks, for the desk

This is exactly where the small bottle shows its strength. A single portion, finished before it goes flat, and the screw cap allows you to close it in between sips.

It goes well with any lunch that doesn't call for wine. It pairs well with a sandwich, quiche, or chicken salad where a tart variety would interfere with the meal. It also finds its place next to a piece of cake in the afternoon, and if you drink it for breakfast, no one will contradict you.

If you have several varieties in the fridge, people usually reach for this one first when guests arrive and no one knows what they like. It is cold enough straight from the fridge, whether from the bottle or in a glass with ice.

What the screw cap does better

The swing-top is the company's trademark, but it has a weakness: once opened, it stays open—at least for all practical purposes.

Although the porcelain stopper can be replaced, it is only airtight to a limited extent, and in a bag on the go, it quickly becomes a wet mess. The screw cap of the small bottle, on the other hand, closes reliably, even after being opened three times.

For transport, it also helps that a small bottle is less likely to break. The glass is thick-walled, the shape is compact, and it sits more stably in a backpack than a tall liter bottle. Anyone who has ever had lemonade between their laptop and a change of clothes will appreciate that.

That is why both formats exist side by side, rather than one replacing the other. The liter bottle belongs on the set table; the small bottle goes out with you. The same lemonade, two roles.

Both are produced at Rième using the same method, with a cold-stirred sugar base that has remained unchanged since 1921. You can find the large version as Orange Lemonade in a liter bottle; the small mandarin lemonade is a relative and slightly more fragrant option. Things get classic with the small lemon lemonade. Further varieties can be found at La Mortuacienne. A deposit is charged for the bottle.
