The history of Le Jacquard Français dates back to 1861, when Benjamin Baer opened a fabric trade in Gérardmer in the French Vosges mountains. In 1928, his successors, the Nathan Lévy weaving mill, expanded the business to include a bleaching plant, as white linen was in high demand at the time. In 1968, the company was acquired by the ELIS group, which purchased more than 50 looms for weaving Jacquard fabrics and created the Le Jacquard Français brand. As the quintessence of creative and technical know-how, the tea towels are woven with the utmost care in the textile factory in the Vosges and then sewn there. The products are of excellent quality and are woven from 100% cotton. The combed long fibers result in a supple, very smooth, and durable fabric. The fineness of the silky-soft yarns gives the designs unparalleled brilliance and precision.
