Gold chocolate angel by Fesey chocolate figures with star

The gold chocolate angel by Fesey chocolate figures wears warm gold foil over an embossed relief figure made of milk chocolate. The wings are open on both sides, the curly hair lies close to the head, and the figure holds a five-pointed star in front of its chest.

Gold chocolate angel is one of the small relief figures that Fesey chocolate figures casts in Riemerling, southeast of Munich, and wraps in foil by hand. Weighing 20 grams, the angel is one of the company's lightest figures and does not require a base or stand.

The gold is warm and slightly coppery, closer to brass than gold leaf. It appears dark in the recesses of the robe and light on the cheeks and wingtips, giving the round face its expression without any need for paint.

Open wings and a star in front of the chest

The angel spreads its arms as if someone had just brought it good news. The star sits between its hands, the folds of the robe run vertically down to the straight hem, and the wings end in short, strong feathers.

The flatter the light falls on the figure, the more clearly the relief stands out. That is why the angel looks more vibrant on a windowsill in January light than under a ceiling lamp, and anyone who turns it slowly will see the face appear and disappear twice.

A greeting that fits into every envelope

Flat and light as it is, the angel lies in a Christmas card alongside the note without bursting the envelope. On an Advent plate, it rests between the cookies; on an Advent wreath, it leans against a candle; and it is often given to neighbors as a thank-you for watering the plants.

It also makes a great addition to a Secret Santa gift when the main present needs a little extra touch. Two or three angels side by side on a plate look like a small choir, while a single one between candles can quickly look a bit lonely.

Until it is given, the angel prefers to stay in a cool, dark place, far away from the radiator under the window. Open the paper at the straight hem when unwrapping it, and the feathers and star will remain intact until the very last piece.

Fine feathers made of liquid milk chocolate

To ensure the warm mixture flows into the very tips of the feathers, the ingredient list includes a soy lecithin emulsifier. It keeps the fat and sugar in suspension and makes the chocolate fluid enough to fill every notch of the mold before it sets.

After casting, the angel is left to lie until the chocolate has cooled completely from the feather tips down. Only then is the gold paper applied, fold by fold, around the wings and hem. Because it is done by hand rather than by machine, the draping of the foil on the back is different for every angel.

Under the paper is a milk chocolate with at least 37 percent cocoa content, in which the cocoa butter is ranked higher than the cocoa mass. A wing therefore breaks off softly and disappears quickly in the mouth, milky and gently sweet all the way down to the hem.

Among the company's chocolate figures, the angel is the quietest character, with stars, hearts, and lambs standing next to it on the shelf. The 70-gram gold star is a perfect match, other chocolate figures are waiting nearby, and the rest can be found in our Christmas department.

Fesey

Fesey stellt südöstlich von München seit 1933 nichts als Figuren aus Schokolade her, gegossen in zweiteilige nostalgische Formen und einzeln mit der Hand in Stanniol geschlagen.
