Questions about Salmon Pâté?

We are happy to help you with Briosa Gourmet.

Spreadably soft salmon cream from Portugal for a perfect piece of bread

The salmon pâté from Briosa Gourmet is a spreadably soft salmon cream made from salmon, olive oil, tomato, and spices, hand-whipped into a mousse in Figueira da Foz. This is not solid fish in a can, but a fine spread for bread, crackers, and appetizer platters.

The salmon pâté from Briosa Gourmet is a refined salmon cream from Portugal, crafted from tender salmon with olive oil, tomato, and a mild spice blend into an airy fish mousse. Rosé in color, gentle in flavor, and spreadable right off the knife. Let yourself be surprised by a spread that achieves a lot with just a few ingredients.

Rosé, mild, and spreadably soft

The salmon cream is creamy, velvety, and spreadable, with a delicate rosé hue and a fine fish flavor softly rounded out by olive oil and tomato.

It gives way immediately on the knife and maintains a creamy texture on bread. The spices remain discreetly in the background, allowing the salmon to take center stage. No strong notes, no sharpness—just a calm, well-rounded creaminess. This is what a pâté tastes like when it doesn't need to persuade anyone.

Where the bolder sardine and mackerel creams taste darker and spicier, the salmon variety is the most delicate of the bunch, light and refined. If you usually find fish too intense, this is the best place to start. It is also perfect as a mild introduction for children.

On crusty bread, for an aperitif, in a sandwich

Salmon pâté is simple and delicious on freshly toasted bread, topped with a squeeze of lemon and some dill.

It finds its place on crackers during an aperitif, accompanied by a glass of dry white wine or a cool Vinho Verde. On an appetizer platter, it pairs well next to a tuna pâté and a sardine pâté—a trio made for spooning and spreading.

For guests, stir the cream until smooth with a spoonful of cream cheese and some lemon zest, serve in small glasses, and add breadsticks. In no time, a can becomes a fine appetizer. A touch of dill on top, and your kitchen greeting is ready.

The cream is also quickly on hand for sandwiches or as a dollop on a salad plate. A dab on boiled potatoes, a spoonful in pasta salad, or a spread for a breakfast roll—the small appetizer is ready. You can keep leftovers fresh in the refrigerator for a day or two if covered.

Hand-whipped in Figueira da Foz

Briosa Gourmet is a brand by A Briosa, based in the fishing port of Figueira da Foz for over 30 years and founded in 1991 by António Faustino on the Portuguese Atlantic coast.

The fish arrives fresh directly at the port of Cabedelo, without long transport routes. Busy hands clean and fillet the fish before it is blended with olive oil, tomato, and a finely seasoned spice mixture into a smooth cream. Up to 60,000 cans are produced this way in a single day, each wrapped by hand in paper with an azulejo pattern. This dedication is appreciated as far away as England, France, and the USA.

Briosa Gourmet has been reaching us for many years via the house of Conservas Portugal Norte, founded in 1912 in Matosinhos, which has been fostering the tradition of Portuguese canned fish for over 100 years. The classic brand Porthos also comes from the same house. Browse through more canned fish from Briosa Gourmet.
