Questions about Tuna fillet in olive oil?

We are happy to help you with Briosa Gourmet.

Tender tuna fillet in fine olive oil from Portugal

The tuna fillet in olive oil from Briosa Gourmet is the finest tuna from Portugal, laid by hand into delicate olive oil and lightly salted. Not shredded fish from a tin, but firm, juicy fillets for salad, pasta, and bread.

The tuna fillet in olive oil from Briosa Gourmet is a refined canned fish product featuring the best tuna from Portugal, processed by hand and bedded in fine olive oil. Only lightly salted, it remains aromatic in taste and firm in texture. Pure tuna, as simple and good as it should be.

Firm, juicy, full of tuna

The tuna fillet is firm, juicy, and aromatic, with a full, mild tuna flavor that is gently enveloped by the olive oil.

The meat remains in large pieces, light and succulent, completely free of fibers and dryness. A splash of lemon, some pepper, and the tuna shows its full class. This is what good canned tuna tastes like when it is made by hand and with patience. This is tuna as you know it from the Mediterranean—not a filler, but a proper little dish in its own right.

Where inexpensive canned tuna often remains dry and pale, this tuna fillet in olive oil is juicy and flavorful. A difference you will notice from the very first bite. And one that turns a simple lunch into something good.

For salad, pasta, and bread

The tuna fillet belongs in a salad first and foremost, classically as a Niçoise with egg, beans, and olives.

Over pasta with lemon and capers, in a sandwich with tomato, or simply on good bread with the oil from the tin, the tuna finds its place. For a small selection of tinned fish, place it alongside the tuna fillet with onion and bay leaf and the tuna fillet with chickpeas. This way, you have three recipes from one cannery side-by-side.

The oil from the tin serves as the dressing—a splash over the salad and you're done. For those who prefer something creamier, spread some tuna pâté on your bread instead.

For a quick dinner, mix the fillets with white beans, red onions, and parsley, add a drizzle of olive oil, and you have a satisfying salad with no cooking required. The tuna also pairs perfectly with a baked potato and a squeeze of lemon.

Hand-selected in Figueira da Foz

Briosa Gourmet is a brand by A Briosa, based in the fishing port of Figueira da Foz for over 30 years, founded in 1991 by António Faustino on the Portuguese Atlantic coast.

The fish arrives fresh and without long transport routes directly at the port of Cabedelo. Diligent hands clean and fillet the tuna, placing the fillets into the tins with nimble movements before they are topped up with olive oil and gently preserved with steam. Up to 60,000 tins are produced in a single day, each one wrapped by hand in azulejo-patterned paper. Sardines, mackerel, and tuna arrive fresh daily, each variety following its own traditional recipe.

Briosa Gourmet has come to us for many years through the house of Conservas Portugal Norte, founded in 1912 in Matosinhos, which has been curating Portuguese canned fish for over 100 years. The classic brand Porthos also comes from this same house. Browse through more fish preserves from Briosa Gourmet.
