Confiserie Imping – Almond Printen

The artisan-made almond Printen from Confiserie Imping are particularly popular with our customers: they are among the soft varieties of Printen. While they are no longer pressed with a mold, they are instead sprinkled with almonds and coated with either milk or dark chocolate.

Printen are a special type of brown gingerbread, whose production has been known since antiquity. At the beginning of the 15th century, gingerbread was "printed" with artfully carved and pressed wooden molds. The name "Printen" comes from its closeness to the English word "print" and the Dutch "prent". Due to the caramelization of the honey as it cooled, they were initially hard and had to be broken.

Almond Printen – Christmas cookies from Imping

With the Confiserie Imping range, we have a local artisan manufactory, based in western Münsterland, in our product line. With the passionate confectioner Eva-Maria Imping, the third generation is now on board and is focusing on quality, tradition, and classic taste experiences for the future. Christmas cookies, such as almond Printen, vanilla crescents, cinnamon stars, Dominosteine, or marzipan potatoes, have been popular for years.

Founded in 1953 by grandparents Alfons and Irmgard Imping, the confectionery with its café quickly became known for its masterfully prepared delicacies made from selected, fresh ingredients. In the mid-1980s, the second generation, with son Walter Imping and his wife Hedwig, took over the reins of the family business. They continued to focus on the artisanal production of exquisite pralines, truffles, and fine pastries and today supply specialist shops throughout Germany. The processing of the best ingredients is still as important to them today as it was to the founders in 1953.

With Eva Maria Imping, the Imping name continues to stand for traditional craftsmanship in the most beautiful liaison with the highest quality, for exquisite indulgence and a touch of happiness!
