The Gold Chocolate Christmas Tree by Fesey Chocolate Figures is a small fir tree made of milk chocolate, its branches drooping in full layers. At the base of the mold are embossed gift packages, with round baubles sitting above the branch tips, all wrapped in matte gold foil.

Gold Chocolate Christmas Tree is the smallest tree from Fesey Chocolate Figures in Riemerling near Munich, cast from milk chocolate with at least 37 percent cocoa content. The 40 grams fit in the palm of your hand and yet easily fill the largest door an advent calendar has to offer.

The small mold depicts a fully decorated tree rather than just a fir, and that is precisely its charm. The 125-gram green fir tree has a more austere appearance, with clear tiers and no ornaments on the branches.

Packages are already lying under the branches

Right at the bottom, where the mold tapers into a flat standing edge, several small boxes are crowded together, just as they appear on the morning of the twenty-fourth before the gift-giving. Some are flat, some are standing upright, and over one of them is a bulge that appears to be a ribbon.

Above this, the branches sag in soft layers, as if snow had weighed them down during the night. Round baubles are distributed over the entire height at the ends of the branches, and a bushy crown completes the figure at the top. If you turn the figure in the light, you will find areas between the branches where the gold sinks into the depths, appearing almost bronze.

Warm gold that catches the candlelight

The gold foil is muted and has a slight honey tone, closer to old tinsel than freshly polished metal. Next to a candle, it picks up the flame and reflects it across the edges of the relief without glaring across the room. From a distance of two meters, the tree is still clearly recognizable.

On dark wood, the tree looks premium; on white porcelain, festive; and amidst the branches of a real fir tree, it remains visible despite its small height. Hang it at eye level, and the light will find it on its own. If you distribute several of them, you get a series of small, bright spots in the dark green that anticipate the Christmas tree before it is even lit.

Milk chocolate from two mold halves

It is cast in two-part nostalgic molds, which are held together by strong magnets until the chocolate has set. The finer the relief, the more precisely the two halves must fit together, and this tree has more details in its mold than any smooth figure.

The milk chocolate underneath remains mild and milky because cocoa butter is listed before cocoa mass in the ingredients. Store the tree in a cool, dark place so that the foil remains smooth and the chocolate begins to melt at room temperature. A child will eat it in one go; adults break off the crown and put the rest aside until the next evening.

This format is made for the advent calendar, as well as for the place setting on Christmas Eve and for the hand that leaves a little something behind at parting.
