The red chocolate Santa Claus is a hand-foiled figure from Fesey Chocolate Figures in Riemerling, near Munich, cast from milk chocolate with at least 37 percent cocoa. It won't get lost among the gifts, nor will it take up half the table.

For those who prefer to set up several smaller ones, there is the 70-gram red Santa Claus, which fits into every Christmas stocking. This version sits right in the middle, between the stocking stuffer and the large figure under the tree. It is intended for that one spot where something needs to stand.

You can recognize the silhouette from across the room

The red is deep and rich, and because nothing is printed, the embossing has to do the work. The long beard drapes over the chest, the hood falls in soft folds, and the staff stands at an angle in the foil. On white linen, the red appears louder; on dark wood, it settles into a calm surface.

A plump, full sack hangs over his shoulder, giving this figure its slightly stooped posture.
