Discover the Muskateller estate wine from Friedrich Becker
The Muskateller 2022 from Weingut Friedrich Becker is a fragrant estate wine from Schweigen in the Palatinate region. Muskateller is a primadonna that demands warm, sheltered sites. Around 200 varieties of Muskateller are known, all with high demands on the site, but there are only about 139 hectares of cultivation area in Germany. Friedrich Becker uses Yellow & Goldmuskateller for this estate wine.
The Muskateller from Weingut Friedrich Becker is a flattering wine, to which a little residual sweetness suits it well. The aromatic grape varieties Yellow Muskateller and Goldmuskateller show their best side: a wonderful, intensely fragrant bouquet, exotic fruit notes of passion fruit, lychee and mango combine with the scent of white blossoms, acacia and elderflower. A great accompaniment to spicy Thai cuisine, white meat and fish, and wonderful as an aperitif or summer wine.
How Friedrich Becker wine is made
The Goldmuskateller and Yellow Muskateller grapes for this estate wine grow in vineyards around Schweigen in the Palatinate, on the German and Alsatian sides, on barren calcareous marl soils. The age of the vines is between 25 and 40 years. The grapes were carefully hand-selected, destemmed and gently pressed after 76 hours of maceration. The controlled fermentation and further aging took place in stainless steel tanks. After eight months of fine lees aging and gentle filtration, bottling took place in March 2023.
