Liqueur glass with calibration marks for Grappa and liqueurs from Trentino

The calibrated liqueur glass from Marzadro is a small, wide glass featuring two fill lines at 2 and 4 centiliters, as well as the distillery's logo. It is not a shot glass meant for downing in one go, but a measured glass that is designed to sit comfortably on the table.

This calibrated liqueur glass comes from the Marzadro Distillery in Nogaredo, Trentino, and measures approximately 7 centimeters in diameter and 6 centimeters in height. Two lines indicate 2 and 4 centiliters, with the Marzadro lettering positioned above them. This ensures that the amount in your glass is exactly what you intended, rather than whatever happens to come out while pouring.

Wider than it is tall, with two marks in the glass

The shape is low, wide, and heavy enough to sit firmly in the hand, closer to a tumbler than a stemmed glass.

Because the opening is wide, the aroma rises unhindered, and it is large enough to fit an ice cube if you are pouring vermouth or an aperitif. The two calibration marks are etched into the glass rather than printed, so they will withstand a hundred wash cycles.

A glass of this size holds about 8 centiliters when filled to the brim, leaving plenty of room above the 4-centiliter mark. This space is exactly what a spirit needs to allow its aroma to collect rather than dissipate immediately.

Two centiliters or four, without a second thought

The bottom line marks the tasting portion, while the top one represents the standard serving size you would receive in an Italian bar.

For a tasting session involving several varieties, the smaller mark is sufficient, as 2 centiliters are enough to appreciate the aroma, initial taste, and finish. At 4 centiliters, however, a spirit has time to open up in the glass without the need to refill. If you are enjoying a single digestif after a meal, use the top mark to match the serving size used in Nogaredo.

Handy, dishwasher-safe, and durable, this is a glass for daily use rather than the display cabinet, because being dishwasher-safe matters more for an everyday item than any ornamentation. Lining several of them up creates an instant tasting setup, without needing to count or measure portions. Matching liqueurs from Marzadro are available on our shelves, from Crema Alpina to Limoncino.

The glass from the Nogaredo distillery

Marzadro has been distilling for generations in Nogaredo, Trentino, and serves its guests using the very same glasses offered here.

The lettering is not merely an advertisement, but the distillery's hallmark; they use these exact glasses for their own tastings. Anyone who has ordered a grappa in an Italian bar will recognize the format: small, understated, and served without fuss. Andrea Marzadro leads the distillation process today, and these glasses represent his philosophy on how a spirit should be served: unpretentious, in the right measure, and without ceremony.

It is also well-suited for vermouth, aperitifs, or herbal liqueurs, as the shape is versatile and does not trap aromas. At 2.80 euros, it is the simplest piece in our entire range and yet the one that makes the biggest difference on the table. If you would like to start with the contents right away, you can find them among the grappas and liqueurs from Marzadro or in our gift set with glasses. After all, a mark is a perfect replacement for guessing.

Distilleria Marzadro

Distilleria Marzadro brennt seit 1949 im Trentiner Nogaredo Grappa, Liköre und Gin. Gegründet von Attilio Marzadro und seiner Schwester Sabina, führt die Familie die Brennerei heute in dritter Generation.
