The Valdueza Red Wine 2021 from the Marqués de Valdueza winery is a powerful Spanish red wine from Extremadura. Three different wines are grown on approximately 18 hectares. The Valdueza is a cuvée of the international grape varieties Merlot and Syrah, as not only Tempranillo and Garnacha are cultivated everywhere in Spain.

Only after a thorough study of the soils did Fadrique Marqués de Valdueza and his oenologist select the grape varieties to choose the best ones for their terroir and thus produce the best possible wine. One part of this Valdueza cuvée matured for a year in stainless steel tanks, another part in French oak barrels. Powerful, full-bodied and lively probably best describes the deep red Valdueza red wine. Velvety with spicy aromas of blackcurrant and wild berries, it accompanies dishes with dark meat and game.

Sustainable work with methods that respect nature is part of the philosophy of the old aristocratic family of Marqués de Valdueza. Romantics will say that the Valdueza family is one of the last families to still drive cattle on horseback from Extremadura to Ávila. For gourmets, the name Valdueza means a magnificent olive oil, red wine, vinegar and honey.

Marqués de Valdueza products are produced at the Perales de Valdueza winery, which has been closely linked to the family history for many generations and is located near the city of Mérida in the province of Extremadura. The city of Emerita Augusta was the capital of the Lusitana province of the Roman Empire. As usual, Rome founded its largest cities where the best grapevines and olive trees could be cultivated. Just as the Valdueza family has been doing for many centuries, attaching great importance to environmental preservation.
