Rose Salt in a ceramic pot, salt blossom meets rose blossom
Sal de Ibiza Rose Salt "La Vie en Rose" in a pink ceramic pot refines hand-harvested Fleur de Sel with rosebuds, rose petals, and rose oil – a dessert and finishing salt with a purpose: 2 euros per pot go to Pink Ribbon Germany.
The Rose Salt from Sal de Ibiza – full name Fleur de Sel "La Vie en Rose" – is arguably the brand's most romantic edition: hand-harvested salt blossom from the salt pans of Ibiza, refined with rosebuds, rose petals, and a hint of rose oil, packaged in a pink ceramic pot with a porcelain spoon.
Roses in the kitchen actually have a long tradition: from Oriental cuisine and Ottoman Turkish delight to French patisserie, blossoms have been used for centuries to season dishes meant to delight both heart and palate. This Rose Salt follows in that tradition – only interpreted as savory instead of sweet.
Floral, fine, and surprisingly versatile
Rose and salt – sounds like perfume, but tastes like poetry: The floral note remains delicately in the background, while the mild Fleur de Sel from the Parque Natural de Ses Salines takes the lead. Only on the tongue does the floral, slightly sweet element unfold, never overpowering – a salt for moments, not for the soup pot.
The salt blossom itself is created just as it has always been: as a paper-thin crystal layer on the salt pans of the World Heritage site, harvested by hand, accounting for less than 1 percent of the harvest. The rose coating turns this icon into something special for special plates.
First the desserts, then the Orient
The Rose Salt plays its star role on sweets: a pinch over dark chocolate mousse, warm chocolate cake with a molten center, or vanilla ice cream – the little salt kick lifts the sweetness, and the rose perfumes the finish. Anyone who has tried this understands why dessert salts have long been a standard in patisserie.
However, savory cuisine has also known the rose for centuries: lamb chops, game dishes, and Orientally inspired plates like tagine or couscous take beautifully to the floral seasoning. The pure counterpart for every day awaits in the turquoise ceramic pot, and the crunchy relative is called Chips La Vie en Rose.
The floral salt blossom also cuts an amazing figure in drinks: a dash on the rim of a Gin Tonic or a lemonade with rose water combines salt, acidity, and blossom – bar culture for home, with no frills. Dose sparingly, inspire wonder, pour more.
The pink ribbon, 2 euros for Pink Ribbon
The Rose Salt bears the pink ribbon on its label – the global symbol for the fight against breast cancer. Sal de Ibiza founder Daniel Witte donates 2 euros from every pot of this edition sold to Pink Ribbon Germany; the entire tradition of limited editions, which later gave rise to Isla Blanca and Mar Blau, once began with a pink salt pot for the same organization.
Give it to anyone you want to bring triple joy: the little pot delights the recipient, adorns the table, and supports early detection – a small gift could hardly do more good. You can find more flavored varieties in our Herb & Spice Salts collection, and the entire island range at Sal de Ibiza. Life in pink – it tastes best on the plate!
Whether as a thank you, a little pick-me-up, or just because: the pink pot is one of those gifts that never needs explaining. It sits on the table, decorates, seasons, and does good on the side – a combination that has become rare.
