Sal de Ibiza – FINA – Fine Sea Salt in 1kg Bag

Sal de Ibiza Fina, fine sea salt in a 1kg bag, is a completely natural sea salt, harvested in the salt pans of Ibiza, which were declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1999. This sea salt, perfect for a salt cellar or salt shaker, contains no additives or preservatives. It also undergoes no further refining process. It is ground on the Balearic island in an ancient stone mill. We recommend also purchasing a Sal de Ibiza salt cellar, where the salt is well preserved and protected from moisture, and the entire content of the 1kg Fina bag fits inside.

Sal de Ibiza – the white gold

For more than 2,700 years, the finest sea salt has been harvested in the salt pans of the island of Ibiza. The salt was highly sought after even then, as it was needed to preserve food. Ibiza even exported the salt to Greece and Italy. In the year 1235 AD, around 25,000 tons of salt were sold each year; salt was an important economic sector for the island. In 1871, two Mallorcan merchants bought the salt pans for the unimaginably high price of 9.15 million euros (converted). This shows that salt has always been an ambassador for the island of Ibiza.
