Erich Stekovics – Colourful Spiral Paprika – now in a larger 380ml jar

The Colourful Spiral Paprika from Erich Stekovics are particularly long, sun-ripened peppers of the Altweibersommer (Indian Summer) variety. This old variety looks more like a chili than a paprika. But since the "Altweibersommer" gets its name from the many thin spider threads floating in the air during this time, the name for the red, elongated paprika is excellent. Hand-cleaned, the "colourful spiral" is pickled in noble tomato vinegar, salt, sugar, and spices, which makes it particularly aromatic. A great side dish for a snack, Brotzeit, or barbecue.

Erich Stekovics is the Emperor of Tomatoes. By Lake Neusiedl in Austria, he plants and cultivates countless old, almost forgotten varieties of tomatoes, peppers, chilies, garlic, and cucumbers, and transforms them into delicious pickled goods in jars.

What Erich Stekovics plants has flavour. And he is particularly fond of the old varieties of tomato and chili plants. And no one can fool him quickly when it comes to that. Among his personal favourite varieties is the Gänseschnabel (Goose's Beak) chili, which he pickles in the finest Beerenauslese vinegar.
