Questions about Williams Christ Pear?

We are happy to help you with Faude feine Brände.

Williams Christ Pear as a delicate classic from the Kaiserstuhl

The Williams Christ Pear from Faude feine Brände is a delicate pear brandy made from hand-picked Williams pears, distilled in the Kaiserstuhl at 40% ABV. Fragrant, fine, fruity – a brandy "à point" that tastes of ripe pear without being harsh.

Williams Christ Pear is a classic pear brandy from master distiller Florian Faude in Bötzingen at the Kaiserstuhl. From fragrant, fully ripe Williams pears from the southern Markgräflerland, he distills a delicate spirit with a subtle pear aroma that is wonderfully aromatic and never harsh.

Fragrant pear, fine and melting

On the nose, the Williams Christ Pear is wonderfully fragrant, with the fine aroma of ripe, delicately melting Williams pears from the summer garden.

On the palate, the pear brandy is delicate and soft, fruity and clear, without being harsh. Fragrant, fruity, velvety – a brandy "à point" that brings the pear into the glass just as it hung on the tree. The finish remains long and clean.

"À point" means: harvested at exactly the right moment, when the pear has fully unfolded its aroma, but is not yet overripe. Florian hits this point by hand, fruit by fruit – and it is precisely this that defines the fine, never intrusive character of the brandy.

Ice-cold as a digestif after dinner

Served neat and ice-cold, the Williams Christ Pear is a fine digestif that rounds off a good meal in a light and elegant way.

After a rich menu, the pear is served ice-cold from a small glass. It is equally suitable with pear compote, a piece of chocolate cake, or a selection of ripe cheeses. A classic Black Forest conclusion: a small pear brandy with an espresso after a meal. If you like local brandies, you should also try the cherry and the mirabelle.

Williams pears from a side valley of the Markgräflerland

Florian Faude sources his hand-sorted Williams Christ pears from a small side valley in the southern Markgräflerland.

The Williams Christ is arguably the most popular and well-known variety of pear – juicy, sweet, with its typical muscat aroma. In this clear brandy, it shows its most elegant side without the need for added sugar or flavoring.

For him, these delicately melting pears are unrivaled – their fine, not overly intrusive aroma defines the character of the brandy. Only fully ripe, hand-sorted fruits go into the mash, because the pear must already possess what the brandy is meant to express.

Unlike a "Geist" (spirit made by maceration), this pear brandy is a true "Brand": the fruit is fermented and distilled, with the alcohol coming from the fruit's own sugar. Florian, a trained winemaker, founded his distillery in Bötzingen in 2006 and built his own distillery in 2017. He uses soft Black Forest water to bring the brandy to 40% ABV, with no added flavors or colors, bottled in 0.5-liter bottles. You can find more spirits from Faude feine Brände with us.

Cool from a small glass, a noble gift

Served cool at around 16 degrees Celsius in a small glass, its fragrant pear aroma is most evident. Once opened, store it in a cool, dark place, and the brandy will keep for a long time. In its simple bottle, the Williams Christ Pear is a noble, classic gift for anyone who appreciates fine fruit brandies. A fragrant greeting from the orchard.
