The Blutsbruder Red is a robust cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Cubin, and Dornfelder, featuring notes of dark berries, bell pepper, and a hint of campfire. The Blutsbruder Concept by Fritz and Peter May

When two brothers run a winery with the honest, authentic name "Karl May" in a spirit of harmony worthy of Winnetou and Old Shatterhand, the "Blutsbruder" (blood brother) wines are born.

Blutsbruder Red was the first wine of the family bond, with White and Rosé following later. In all three cuvées, Fritz and Peter May marry a local grape variety with an international one; the name is a tongue-in-cheek nod to the author Karl May.

All three wines are grown on organically farmed sites with sandy loess-loam soil, hand-harvested, spontaneously fermented, and aged in stainless steel tanks—all certified organic according to DE-ÖKO-039. The May family has been making wine for seven generations since 1815 on about 35 hectares in Rheinhessen, and with the Blutsbruder cuvées, they show their playful, idiosyncratic side.
