Manincor Tannenberg Sauvignon Blanc 2023 – A Masterpiece from South Tyrol
The Manincor Tannenberg Sauvignon Blanc 2023 presents itself in a sparkling golden yellow and seduces with intense aromas of ripe tropical fruits such as mango, papaya, and passion fruit. On the palate, it is full-bodied in the middle, while otherwise delighting with a mineral note reminiscent of wet stone and juicy acidity. A long, mineral finish rounds off the tasting experience.
Why you should treat yourself to a glass of Tannenberg 2023:
- Intense fruit aromas: Ripe mango, papaya, and passion fruit dominate the bouquet.
- Mineral elegance: A fine note of wet stone gives the wine depth.
- Long finish: Lasting, mineral aftertaste for a prolonged enjoyment.
Origin and Terroir
The grapes for this exceptional Sauvignon Blanc come from the Lieben Aich site in Terlan, located on a southwest-facing slope at 300 meters above sea level. The mild, airy microclimate and the well-drained, sandy loam soil on porphyry weathered rock significantly shape the character of this wine.
Vinification and Ageing
After careful hand-picking, the destemmed grape berries were macerated on the press for twelve hours to extract aromas and structure from the grape skins. Spontaneous fermentation took place in wooden barrels with indigenous yeasts. Subsequently, the Tannenberg matured for nine months on its fine lees, further refining its aroma and taste.
Serving Suggestion
The Manincor Tannenberg Sauvignon Blanc 2023 pairs excellently with shellfish and crustaceans, grilled seafood, and white meat. For optimal enjoyment, it is recommended to serve the wine lightly chilled at 8–10 °C. In its youth, it benefits from decanting and should ideally be served in Burgundy glasses.
