Weingut Nimmervoll – Engilmar Pinot Blanc
The Engilmar Pinot Blanc 2020 from Weingut Nimmervoll in Wagram shows what a great Pinot Blanc with ideal terroir can achieve. This Grand Reserve is an attempt to get the maximum out of fully ripe grapes. The intense spice constantly reveals new nuances. Hardly any other grape variety is as well suited for the loess ridges of Wagram as Pinot Blanc. French oak lends an extraordinarily complex nose.
On the palate, too, a true unique creation of genuine grandeur! The king in Gregor Nimmervoll's cellar – magnificent, opulent, and noble. Only in the best years, like 2020 after 2018, made from those white wine grapes that come closest to his idea of perfection, pressed in a maturation style that suits the vintage and the winemaker's intuition. Therefore, a unique creation year after year, without a double. Engilmar, beloved by angels, Wagram and Pinot Blanc – a meeting of two deeply loving souls. Reserved for the best vintages. Craftsmanship and a great work of art at the same time. Opulent yet infinitely delicate with a vibrant structure.
Nimmervoll – Winemaking
The Pinot Blanc grapes from Nimmervoll's vineyards were harvested fully ripe on October 23, 2020. After 36 hours of skin contact, the must is gently, pneumatically pressed and spontaneously fermented with natural yeast in new 500l French oak barrels, then aged for 16 months with intensive yeast contact in wooden barrels. The young wine remains on the fine lees until bottling in March 2022, which leads to more complexity and depth, as well as very good aging potential.
