Nimmervoll Schafflerberg Grüner Veltliner – Single-vineyard wine from Wagram
The Nimmervoll Grüner Veltliner Schafflerberg 2022 from the Nimmervoll winery is a dry white wine from the vineyard site, or 'Ried' as it is called in Austria, Felser Schafflerberg in the Austrian wine-growing region of Wagram. With 13.5% alcohol by volume, it is an elegant white wine with a medium body; with its 6.3g/l acidity and 3.4g/l residual sugar, it is well-balanced and long-lasting. This single-vineyard wine pairs well with dark meat in rich sauces, veal fillet in a creamy sauce, spicy cheese, or as an alternative to red wine with steak.
Nimmervoll Wine – Schafflerberg Grüner Veltliner
The grapes for the Nimmervoll Grüner Veltliner Schafflerberg single-vineyard wine grow on pure loess soils. Harvested late, the fully ripe grapes are first destemmed—meaning they are freed from stalks and stems—and after 6-8 hours of maceration, they are pneumatically pressed and spontaneously fermented. After slow fermentation, the wine is aged for a time on the gross lees in steel tanks, then on the fine lees until spring, and finally matured in 500-liter oak barrels until bottling.
The Nimmervoll Grüner Veltliner Schafflerberg Wagram DAC shows opulence and a diversity of aromas and is capable of aging for decades. Its numerous awards show that Gregor Nimmervoll knows how to vinify outstanding Grüner Veltliners. Much respect.
