Cassis Frizzante – Raumland Secco with Blackcurrant
The Raumland Secco Cassis Frizzante is an exciting wine cocktail made from unpasteurized direct juice of blackcurrants and Pinot Noir red wine, rounded off by the delicate fruit sweetness of grape juice, enriched to contain 5.5% vol. alcohol and made sparkling with added carbon dioxide.
The Sekthaus Raumland Secco entices with its dark red color in the glass and animates with fine bubbles to drink. The Cassis Frizzante tastes wonderfully fruity of dark red berries and has a beautiful sweet and sour balance.

Sekthaus Raumland – Kir (Royale) from Rheinhessen
Sekthaus Raumland from Flörsheim Dalsheim in Rheinhessen makes German sparkling wine of the highest class following the French model. Volker Raumland is a traditional sparkling wine maker who relies on secondary fermentation in the bottle; he likes the nutty, brioche notes in the sparkling wine and works with grape varieties also found in Champagne: Pinot Noir, Meunier, and Chardonnay.
With the Cassis Secco, he has created something like the Kir Royale from Rheinhessen, a wine cocktail perfect for toasting, but also suitable for game dishes, cheese, or dessert. A truly good alternative to the still widely served sparkling wine with orange juice.
The true Kir owes its name to the mayor of Dijon, Felix Kir, who served this classic, originally consisting of white wine and cassis liqueur, at official receptions in the town hall.
Mixed with Champagne, it became the Kir Royale, which in the 1980s became "the" drink of high society, similar to today's Spritz or Hugo. But even if you don't belong to high society, the combination of wine or secco and blackcurrant is simply fantastically good. Enjoy the Raumland Cassis Frizzante.
