Fruity tomato ketchup made from sun-ripened tomatoes
Stokes' Real Tomato Ketchup is a particularly fruity tomato ketchup with a high tomato content. No watery standard, no sweet, generic mush – hardly any other ketchup contains as much tomato, which is why it has won Great Taste Gold twice.
Stokes' Real Tomato Ketchup is a tomato ketchup from Suffolk, England, for which 200 g of sun-ripened Italian tomatoes are cooked down into every 100 g of ketchup. That is why it tastes so full and fruity. Vegan, lactose-free, and gluten-free, delicately sweetened with unrefined raw cane sugar. A ketchup that manages without artificial flavors and yet tastes like more.
Juicy, fruity, and full of tomato flavor
200 g of tomatoes per 100 g of ketchup – that is the highest tomato density in the entire Stokes range.
The raw cane sugar provides a subtle sweetness, the spirit vinegar adds acidity, and garlic and onion provide the seasoning. Fruity, juicy, and spicy, it glides across the tongue without the sticky sweetness of many commercial ketchups. It loves everything savory and pairs well with everything from the grill or the deep fryer. It is no wonder that this became the star of the manufacturer.
It glows in deep red in the glass, thick and smooth all at once. The tomatoes ripen in the Italian sun before being gently cooked down into ketchup in Suffolk. Children love it, and so do adults – it’s just that here, you can actually taste the real tomato.
A ketchup for children and connoisseurs alike
Classic with fries, burgers, bratwurst, and meatballs. It is just as essential on a grill platter as it is alongside scrambled eggs and cheese sandwiches in the morning. It tastes just as good to children as it does to connoisseurs.
A spoonful elevates a Bolognese, mixed in equal parts with mayonnaise it becomes a quick cocktail sauce, and with a little curry powder, you can whip up your own curry ketchup in no time.
Diluted with broth, it makes for a quick tomato soup or sugo; mixed with oil, vinegar, and a splash of Worcestershire sauce, it creates a tangy salad dressing. A tablespoon belongs in every meatball recipe anyway. A bottle of ketchup quickly becomes a mini-pantry for many dishes. If you use a lot of it, grab the large 490 ml bottle.
If you prefer it hotter, place the Chili Ketchup next to it. Further varieties are waiting for you on the ketchup shelf.
Double Gold at the Great Taste Awards
The Real Tomato Ketchup won Gold at the British Great Taste Awards in 2002 and 2005 and remains the most popular Stokes product to this day. Not every ketchup manages two consecutive gold awards, especially since Great Taste involves blind tasting.
Founder Rick Sheepshanks started in 2004 with mayonnaise and ketchup, and it was precisely this ketchup that became the star of all sauces. Stokes gently simmers the Italian tomatoes in Suffolk, England, in small batches, without any artificial flavors. Cooking down 200 g of tomatoes per 100 g of ketchup takes time, but the pure fruit flavor is what remains in the end. Best ingredients, no shortcuts, just as Rick has done from the beginning.
In 2016, the Rendlesham-based manufacturer was named one of Britain's CoolBrands alongside Apple and Spotify. After opening, store the 257 ml bottle in the refrigerator and consume the ketchup within about six weeks. More from Suffolk can be found in the Stokes product range. Simply a classic.
