The English Breakfast tea bag by Kusmi Tea is the mobile version of the British breakfast classic – the identical organic recipe made from black tea from Ceylon and black tea from Assam, with no flavorings or additives. Robust, tannin-rich, and malty. Instead of loose leaves, this contains 20 muslin tea bags of 2 g each, for a total of 40 g.

One tea bag per cup, 90 °C, 3–4 minutes

Place one tea bag in your cup, pour over 90 °C hot water, and let it steep for 3 to 4 minutes. The result is the same as with the loose-leaf tin: a deep dark red infusion with a full-bodied character, malty depth from the Assam portion, and robust tannins from the Ceylon portion. The perfect companion for milk and a lump of sugar, in the true style of a British afternoon tea.

For a classic British milk tea, pour the water over the bag and add cold milk after letting it steep for 2 to 3 minutes. The tea also pairs well with a spoonful of condensed milk or a splash of oat or almond milk. If you prefer to drink it plain, you can add a squeeze of lemon to soften the tannins slightly.

Same tea, two formats

Choosing between the loose-leaf tin and tea bags is a matter of the situation: The loose 100 g tin releases the full aroma of the whole leaves at home in a teapot – without individual packaging and more economical per gram. The tea bag is the compromise for days when you don't have time for the ritual of using a strainer and pot, but still want your familiar tea.
