The Expure Addict by Kusmi Tea is the yellow representative of the house's three-part Expure family and has been one of the best-selling teas in the range for years. An organic blend whose base consists of green tea, yerba mate, rooibos and guarana seeds – four caffeine and guarana-containing plants from South America and Africa, supplemented by rosehip, fennel and mint.

Everything is refined with natural flavors of grapefruit, orange and tropical fruits. The result: a bright yellow infusion with a zesty-tart note and strong character.

Opening the tin immediately brings sunshine: the scent of grapefruit zest dominates, followed by the grassy mate note, the freshness of green tea and a hint of tropical fruits. The leaves are a vibrant mixture of dark green green tea pieces, coarser light green mate sticks, reddish-brown rooibos needles, light rosehip pieces and individually visible guarana seeds and fennel seeds.

In the cup, Expure Addict presents itself in a bright yellow reminiscent of sunlight in a glass. The first sip is zesty and tart, the grapefruit immediately takes the lead with its characteristic slightly bitter citrus edge. Beneath it, the herbal depth of mate and green tea works, the mint provides a cooling hint, the rooibos rounds it off with a gentle sweetness. In the finish, the grapefruit bitterness lingers, setting this tea apart from purely sweet-fruity teas.

In the morning with breakfast or iced in summer

Expure Addict is caffeinated due to the combination of green tea, mate and guarana. It pairs well with breakfast cereals and fresh fruits, smoothie bowls with grapefruit and orange, and yogurt with honey. It also finds its place at weekend brunch or as a morning cup in the office.

The tea tastes best neat; the natural flavors make sugar unnecessary. In summer, it truly unfolds its potential as an iced tea: steep for 7 minutes, add ice cubes, a slice of pink grapefruit for decoration – and the summer drink for the terrace is ready. For a pot, you'll need about 2 tablespoons of loose tea per liter, steeped with 85 °C hot water, for 3 to 4 minutes.

The history of Kusmi Tea begins in 1867 in St. Petersburg, where 21-year-old Pavel Mikhailovich Kousmichoff opens his own tea house. After the Russian Revolution, the family flees to Paris in 1917.
