Kusmi Tea Four Red Fruits is an organic black tea blend of 94 percent robust black tea and 6 percent natural fruit flavors, composed in the workshops of the Parisian tea house in Normandy. Cherry, strawberry, raspberry, and redcurrant give the tea its subtle acidity and soften its intensity – loose in a 100-gram tin, enough for many afternoons.

As soon as you open the tin, it smells of ripe cherries, summer berries, and a touch of a jam kitchen. Ideal for tea time, as they say at Kusmi – as if such a scent could be confined to a specific time of day.

The recipe is refreshingly simple: robust organic black tea, plus natural red berry flavors – that is all Kusmi Tea Four Red Fruits needs.

It is developed, blended, and flavored in their own workshops in Saint-Vigor-d'Ymonville near Le Havre, where the Seine flows into the English Channel. The entire range from the house is organically certified, and packaging is also done in France. You can taste it in the clarity of the blend – nothing overwhelms the tea here; the fruits merely accompany it.

On the road since 1867, from Saint Petersburg to Paris

Pavel Mikhailovich Kousmichoff opened his first tea shop in Saint Petersburg in 1867; the Kusmi house has been blending its teas from Paris since 1917.

The story behind it sounds like a novel: at 14, Pavel started as an errand boy for a tea merchant whose manager recognized the boy's talent and taught him the art of blending. For his wedding, he was gifted his own small tea shop – an ascent that Pavel, as a farmer's son, could hardly have dreamed of. The wedding gift became a tea house with branches throughout Russia, and the Russian original became a Parisian exile in 1917, which endures to this day.

The Orebi family has led the house since 2003, and it has carried the B-Corp label since July 2024. Remarkable. It requires 90-degree Celsius water and 3 to 4 minutes of patience – the longer it steeps, the more the black tea steps to the fore over the fruits.
