Manincor Il Conte 2022 - the essence of South Tyrol in a red wine

The Manincor Il Conte 2022 unites the tradition and modernity of South Tyrolean viticulture. This exquisite red wine, a cuvée of Merlot, Cabernet, and Lagrein, reflects the region's rich terroir and the winery's commitment to biodynamics. Ideal for connoisseurs seeking a biodynamic wine with character.

The Il Conte 2022, which displays a structured and velvety texture, is the result of biodynamic winemaking that respects and promotes the vineyard ecosystem. Through manual labor and natural fertilization, a wine is created that captures the vitality of its surroundings.

Red wine enjoyment - a sensory experience

Diversity and terroir: The vineyards where the vines for this red cuvée grow belong to some of the warmest sites in South Tyrol and offer ideal conditions for great red wines. Not far from Lake Caldaro, the Manincor and Panholzerhof vineyards are situated on two southeast-facing slopes at 250m above sea level, whose sandy loam soils are interspersed with limestone gravel and glacial rock deposits. Lagrein, Merlot, and Cabernet thrive here.

Production and aging: Manincor stands for a symbiosis of historical heritage and modern technology. This approach guarantees quality and a wine that reveals itself in every glass of Il Conte. The biodynamically grown grapes are harvested by hand at the optimal moment of ripeness and vinified separately. After blending, the Il Conte matures for one year in oak barrels.

Serving suggestion: This organic red wine offers a complex taste experience, combining power and elegance with a balance typical of the careful selection and assemblage at Manincor. This wine is ideal for immediate enjoyment, but can also be aged until 2029. It pairs perfectly with savory Mediterranean appetizers and with roasted or grilled beef or lamb. A serving temperature of 16-18°C is recommended to bring out the wine's full aromas.

Why this South Tyrolean wine promises enjoyment for all the senses

  • Biodynamics as a principle: This red wine from the "Hand" wine line (symbolizing the hand that works the soil, tends the vines, and picks the grapes: uncomplicated wines that are classic, clear, and accessible) embodies Manincor's biodynamic philosophy, reflected in the vegan certification and the Respekt-BIODYN seal.

  • Expressive aroma: Characterized by dark berries, notes of spice, fine tannins, and a hint of wood, this wine impressively unites the power and elegance of Lagrein, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon.

  • Vinification: The grapes Lagrein (43%), Merlot (36%), and Cabernet Sauvignon (21%) are processed separately and fermented in a combination of oak barrels, concrete vats, and stainless steel tanks. After a ten-day maceration period, during which the skins are submerged daily, the wine matures for twelve months in oak barrels.

  • Versatile pairing options: Pairs excellently with well-seasoned Mediterranean appetizers and is perfect for hearty meat dishes or aged cheese.

  • Drinking maturity: Enjoy this wine, ideally slightly below room temperature, optimally from 2024 to the end of 2029.

Manincor – Wine Culture and Biodynamics

The Manincor estate manages about 50 hectares of vines around the residence on Lake Caldaro, relies on biodynamic cultivation, and has been fully biodynamically certified since 2009. This underscores the endeavor to produce high-quality grapes and transform them into outstanding wines in the unmistakable Manincor style. The estate follows the philosophy of creating wines with elegance, finesse, and an impressive structure.

Tradition, craftsmanship, and love for nature reside in every bottle of Il Conte. Due to the complex structure and the ripe fruit profile on the finish, the Manincor Il Conte offers a special experience for connoisseurs and lovers of powerful red wines.

Enjoy the Manincor Il Conte 2022, a biodynamic red wine with fruity berry aromas, notes of pepper and licorice, and fine tannins.

It grew on the southeast-facing slopes above Lake Caldaro, where Lagrein, Merlot, and Cabernet root in sandy loam with limestone gravel. Discover the Manincor Il Conte 2022, a red wine masterpiece of power and elegance from South Tyrol.
