Nordic Black by Plukt is a dark organic herbal infusion from Latvia, derived from fermented leaves of the willowherb, Chamaenerion angustifolium. Why fermented leaves turn dark

The special thing about Nordic Black is the fermentation: the willowherb leaves are rolled and left to mature until their color and aroma deepen. The longer they ferment, the darker and rounder the final infusion becomes. Fermented willowherb tea has a long history in Northern and Eastern Europe and has been drunk there for generations, long before black tea from distant lands found its way into cups.

Also as a cold brew on hot days

Rinse your cup with hot water, place a pyramid bag inside, and pour boiling water over it. After covering and steeping for 5 to 7 minutes, Nordic Black reveals its full, citrus-scented aroma. On hot days, it also makes a great cold brew: place one bag in 500 ml of cold water, shake briefly, and let steep for up to 8 hours. It is best enjoyed neat, though a splash of milk makes it rounder. In winter it warms the hands, and in summer it becomes a dark iced tea—an infusion for every season.
