Fireweed tea by Plukt is a spicy-floral organic herbal infusion from Latvia, derived from nothing but hand-picked leaves of the narrow-leaved fireweed, Chamerion angustifolium. Inside the box, you will find 30 g of loose leaves from certified organic wild meadows. The cup presents a light green color, showcasing a unique wild plant of the North.

Spicy, floral, lovely

Fireweed tea has a delicate fragrance and produces a light green, clear cup. On the palate, it is spicy, floral, and lovely, with a fine, slightly sweet finish without any sharpness.

In the morning and early afternoon, during a quiet break, we prefer to drink it as is – just the way it is. If you are new to wild herbal teas, this is a gentle introduction, as fireweed is mild enough for every day, yet distinct enough to spark curiosity. The purple wild plant of the North

Narrow-leaved fireweed is native to Latvia and Finland and glows with purple blossoms across entire clearings in summer. In English, it is called "fireweed" because it is one of the first plants to return where the forest has burned or the soil has lain fallow. A hardy, thrifty wild plant, then, that no one needs to sow. For this tea, only the leaves are hand-picked in certified organic wild meadows in Latvia, where the fireweed grows naturally on its own.

Interestingly, this exact plant is also found in the fermented Nordic Black and the dried Nordic Green; here, you get it in its pure form. The leaves are gently dried using wind and solar energy, which preserves color and aroma. The loose fireweed tea is packaged in a paper box. PLŪKT means "picked" in Latvian. We like that.

Māra and the wild herbs of Latvia

Behind Plukt is Māra Lieplapa, who collects the wild plants of her homeland and brings them into the cup, as Lieplapa likes to say. In her tea house in the small village of Saulessēta in the Prauliena parish, she holds masterclasses and hosts tea ceremonies. A small idea has grown into a brand whose wild herbs are enjoyed far beyond Latvia today.

Spicy and floral, from loose leaves

Rinse the cup with hot water, add 1.5 to 2 tablespoons of loose leaves, and pour boiling water over them. Covered, 5 to 7 minutes is enough for the leaves to release their spicy-floral aroma at their own pace. Only add sweetener once it has cooled slightly; a little honey works well. On warm days, it also tastes great cold: place the leaves in 500 ml of cold water and let them steep in the refrigerator for a few hours.
