Oregano Blossoms by Plukt is a savory organic herbal infusion from Latvia, made from nothing but hand-picked blossoms of wild oregano, Origanum vulgare. Each box contains 35g of loose blossoms from certified organic wild meadows. The infusion is light and slightly copper-colored, proving that oregano is capable of more than just topping pizza.

Most people know oregano as a herb for pizza and pasta. As a tea, this wild herb shows a completely different, flowery side—savory, yes, but gentle and without any sharpness. At Plukt, only the blossoms are picked, not the entire stems, which makes the infusion finer and rounder than a standard herbal tea. For those who enjoy Mediterranean cooking, this creates a lovely bridge from the spice rack to the teacup—an infusion that tastes of summer and southern hills, despite coming from the far north.

The blossoms grow wild in Latvia's certified organic meadows; they are hand-picked and gently dried using wind and solar energy, which preserves the essential oils and full aroma. Māra and the wild herbs of Latvia

Behind Plukt is Māra Lieplapa, who collects the wild plants of her homeland and brings them to the cup, as Lieplapa likes to share. In her teahouse in the small village of Saulessēta in the Prauliena municipality, she hosts masterclasses and holds tea ceremonies. What began as a small idea has grown into a brand whose wild herbs are now enjoyed far beyond Latvia.

One and a half to two tablespoons of blossoms per cup

Rinse the cup with hot water, add 1.5 to 2 tablespoons of loose blossoms, and pour boiling water over them. Five to seven minutes covered is enough for the blossoms to release their savory aroma at their own pace. Only sweeten it once it has cooled slightly; a spoonful of honey pairs well with the savory note. On warm days, it also tastes great cold: add the blossoms to 500 ml of cold water and let them steep in the refrigerator for a few hours to create a savory iced tea.
