Knipser Clarette – a great rosé wine from the Palatinate
Clarette, a rosé from Knipser, is a great rosé wine from the Palatinate. Made from the classic Bordeaux grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot. It is produced using the Saignée method, i.e., maceration drainage during the pressing of red wine grapes.
Its color is light, almost salmon, the Knipser Clarette Rosé refreshes the palate and nose with strawberry and citrus fruits. On the palate, blackcurrant and orange peel, with a slightly piquant finish. Nicely light and not too dry. Cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Knipser's top seller. Considered one of Germany's best rosé wines.
The VINUM Wine Guide says: "Fresh and young to drink, the Rosé Cuvée Clarette is fragrant, slightly floral and incredibly refreshing."
