Wine from Azienda Guerrieri is grown on 48 hectares of vines on the eastern bank of the Metauro, a few kilometers from the Adriatic Sea. Since 2004, the estate has practiced near-natural farming, without chemical fertilizers or pesticides. The range extends from light Frizzante and rosé to aged Riserva and the estate's two flagship wines.
From Bianchello to Guerriero della Terra
The signature white grape is Bianchello, also known as Biancame. It is used to produce the fresh Bianchello del Metauro DOC, the concentrated Celso selection, and the Moss Frizzante, which is harvested as early as mid-August. At 11 percent alcohol, the Frizzante remains the estate's lightest wine. For balmy evenings, there is also the Rosa dei Venti rosé, served well-chilled with antipasti and grilled vegetables.
Among the reds, the journey leads from the uncomplicated Nero Marche and the Colli Pesaresi Sangiovese DOC to the aged Galileo Riserva line. At the very top is the Guerriero della Terra, a red cuvée made from 95 percent Montepulciano, which wine critic Luca Maroni has rated with up to 99 out of 100 points over several vintages. Its white counterpart, Guerriero del Mare, is considered one of the most dense white wines in the region; at Vinitaly 2024, no fewer than three of the estate's wines were awarded five stars. Those looking for oil from the same hills to accompany their meal will find it in the olive oil from Azienda Guerrieri.
