Questions about Linen Tea Towel – Cafe Creme?

We are happy to help you with Linen Tales.

Linen Tea Towel Cafe Creme by Linen Tales

The Linen Tea Towel Cafe Creme by Linen Tales is a cream-beige kitchen towel made of pure European linen, woven in Lithuania and stone-washed. Its shade lies between coffee with milk and peach, bringing light into kitchens featuring lots of dark wood.

Linen Tea Towel Cafe Creme is a kitchen towel from Linen Tales in Vilnius that dries glasses, lines the bread basket, and keeps the teapot warm. The corner features a loop so that it can be hung back on its hook immediately after use, allowing it to dry quickly.

A cream tone that brightens up dark wood

Cafe Creme carries a subtle hint of peach alongside its beige, making it warmer than classic natural linen. On an oak or walnut countertop, this shade acts like a bright spot in the room, and alongside white porcelain, it takes the edge off a table setting. It matches stoneware and ceramics in earthy tones anyway, which is why it is one of the most purchased colors in the series.

Why linen leaves no traces on glass

Linen fiber is smooth and long; it does not lint and does not shed anything onto the surface during polishing. A freshly dried wine glass therefore remains clear, without lint in the bowl and without the cloudy film that a cotton towel often leaves behind. Anyone who regularly washes stemware by hand will notice this difference the first time, and even more so when polishing champagne flutes.

The same property makes the towel an ally when cleaning salad: lettuce and herbs can be swirled dry in it without fibers sticking to the leaves. Subsequently, the fabric also absorbs the water from the bowl. Those who put dry salad into the bowl will later get a dressing that clings rather than collecting at the bottom.

Cut and hemmed in Vilnius

In the Linen Tales sewing workshop, the washed lengths of fabric are cut by hand and double-folded at all four edges so that no threads come loose. Each towel is then individually rolled into a paper band, making it a ready-to-go gift without any further effort. Two or three shades together make a gift for which no one needs wrapping paper anymore. For a housewarming or a kitchen anniversary, it is a thoughtful gesture that will actually be used.

The long thread makes the difference

Linen yarn consists of very long fibers that offer little surface area in the weave and therefore hardly pill. The longevity of this towel is based on exactly this, because where short fibers gradually detach from the bond over time, the linen thread remains in place. The fabric density of 215 grams per square meter gives it enough body to carry a wet pot without soaking through. Linen Tales uses this quality for its entire range of kitchen and table linens.

Wash at 40 degrees, air dry

Wash the linen tea towel on a gentle cycle at 40 degrees, spin at a maximum of 600 revolutions, and then let it air dry. Use a mild detergent without bleach, as dyed linen will otherwise lose its depth over the years. You can skip the dryer, as linen is dry faster than the machine would take to do it.
