Light grey with a cool core

Light Grey is a brightened grey with a cool core, reminiscent of pewter or an overcast morning sky. This shade does not disappear next to white, nor does it dominate alongside colorful tableware, making it the most reliable choice in the entire range. With silver cutlery and clear glass, it creates a table setting that is understated. On an oak tabletop, this same grey highlights the wood grain. The food remains the only source of color on the table.

Four courses, the napkin goes with you

A four-course meal takes time, and during this period every guest will place the same piece of fabric down and pick it up several times. Linen absorbs moisture from fingers and lips and releases it into the ambient air, so that the napkin does not feel damp on your knee by dessert. The corner that stays thin instead of bulky

This means only a single layer remains at this point; the corner is not bulky, and the napkin can be folded sharply without the edge bulging. At Linen Tales, a small team in Vilnius cuts every strip by hand and sews the corners individually. This craftsmanship only becomes apparent when the napkin is folded on the plate.

What touches the mouth should be tested

Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX tests every yarn and dye for residues that could be harmful to health before the fabric becomes a napkin. For a textile that touches lips and hands all evening, this certification is more than a formality. For the raw material, EUROPEAN FLAX handles this task—a label for Western European cultivation with documented origin for every fiber. Linen Tales subsequently handles the weaving, dyeing, and sewing in the same country, ensuring the material never leaves Lithuania until it is a finished napkin.

Wash at 40 degrees, air dry

Wash the linen napkins on a delicate cycle at 40 degrees and keep the spin speed under 600 rpm so that the fabric does not warp. Bleach is reserved for white laundry and has no place with this dyed grey. The clothesline is sufficient for drying, and those who smooth the linen while it is damp can skip ironing altogether. If you must use a tumble dryer, use a low setting and remove while slightly damp, otherwise the fiber will feel harsh.
