Questions about Linen Napkins – Red Pear – Set of 2?

We are happy to help you with Linen Tales.

Red Pear Linen Napkins by Linen Tales

The Red Pear linen napkins by Linen Tales are a pair of pear-red cloth napkins made from pure European linen, woven in Lithuania and stone-washed for softness. The two pieces arrive in your kitchen tied with kitchen twine and featuring a paper label.

Red Pear Linen Napkins are a pair of cloth napkins from Linen Tales in Vilnius, measuring 40 by 40 centimeters each and tied together as a set of two with kitchen twine. They can be placed under a wooden cheese board, as a coaster under a chilled water carafe, or folded next to a wine glass.

Pear-red, warm, and without a hint of harshness

Red Pear captures the red of a ripe red pear, infused with a rosy undertone that eliminates the harshness of a pure, flat red. Against aged wood, matte clay, and a light-colored cheese board, the color appears soft rather than loud, and it blends seamlessly into a palette of cranberries, grapes, and walnuts. On a white tablecloth, it creates an accent that warms the entire table. On the table, red does not need to be loud to be noticed.

Under the cheese board and under the carafe

A napkin is good for so much more than just the place setting next to a plate. Placed under a cheese board, it catches stray crumbs and softens the sound of the knife; under a carafe, it absorbs condensation before it lands on the wood. Because the fabric instantly absorbs moisture and releases it into the air, no dampness remains trapped underneath. At the end of the evening, the used piece simply goes into the laundry, and your tabletop remains pristine.

From blue-blooming fields to the sewing workshop

Flax blooms in blue, grows in Western Europe with the help of rain, requires almost no pesticides, and provides the fiber from which the thread is made. The EUROPEAN FLAX seal guarantees that the fiber comes from these specific crops and that its journey is fully documented. The Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX certification then tests every thread and dye for residues harmful to health, which is essential for a textile used near the mouth. The weaving and sewing are both carried out by Linen Tales in the same country.

What a piece of fabric offers compared to paper

Paper gives way at the first greasy touch, leaving softened scraps scattered across the table. A linen fabric absorbs oil just as readily as water, maintains its shape, and releases both during a wash cycle. Over the years, a single pair from Linen Tales replaces an entire cupboard full of disposable packs. For a long evening of cheese, butter, olive oil, and ripe soft cheese, that is exactly the difference that counts.

Wash at 40 degrees, soak stains beforehand

Wash your linen napkins on a delicate cycle at a maximum of 40 degrees, using a mild detergent without bleach, so that the pear-red color does not fade. It is best to soak red wine and grease stains in lukewarm water the same evening; a normal wash cycle will then suffice. Spin at under 600 RPM and let the fabric air dry afterwards. Bleach is reserved for white laundry; on dyed linen like this, it causes permanent damage.

Red Pear Linen Napkins – Material and Dimensions
