Grey-green, the calmest shade in the series

Green Milieu is a muted grey with such a subtle green tint that many people initially take it for pure grey. That is precisely its strength, as it bridges warm and cool tones: it grounds dusty pink and cream just as well as it holds its own next to blue. In the Linen Tales color family, it serves as the anchor around which the others are aligned. If you are only buying a single towel and are not yet sure how your decor will evolve, this is the safest choice.

Why this fabric lasts so long

The fibers in linen yarn are exceptionally long and provide little surface area for wear in the weave, which is why pilling rarely occurs. Where short fibers detach from the weave over the years, the linen thread simply stays put. At 215 grams per square meter, the fabric has enough substance to lift a wet pot without soaking through. Linen Tales uses this same quality for all of their kitchen and table linens.

A shade that moves from the stove to the table

This grey-green is muted enough for table linens and therefore does not have to stay in the kitchen: draped over a bread basket or used as a base for a cheese board, it can easily make its way to the dining table. Napkins, a table runner, and a pillowcase are available in the same color, allowing you to maintain a consistent tone throughout an entire room. A table set with items from the same color family looks organized without everything having to look identical. That is the advantage of such an understated green.

Stone-washed and hemmed in Vilnius

Because new linen is stiff and smooth, each length of fabric first undergoes a stone wash to lose its hardness. In the sewing workshop, the lengths are then divided by hand and double-folded on all four edges so that no threads come loose. Each finished towel is rolled individually in a paper band, making it ready to be given as a small gift without any extra effort. Two shades side by side make for a complete present.

Wash at 40 degrees, skip the fabric softener

Wash the linen tea towel at 40 degrees on a delicate cycle and limit the spin speed to 600 rpm. A mild detergent without bleach is perfectly sufficient, and it is best to leave the fabric softener in the cupboard as it reduces the absorbency of this fabric. The clothesline is enough for drying, and you only need to iron it if you prefer a smooth surface over the natural drape.
