Linen Tea Towel Moss Green is a kitchen towel from Linen Tales in Vilnius that dries glasses, pats herbs dry, and lines the bread basket. At 45 by 65 centimeters, it can handle an entire sink full of dishes, and the corner loop allows the towel to be hung up within easy reach afterward.

Moss green, warm-toned rather than cool

Moss Green lies between fresh leaf green and forest floor, a green with a distinct yellow component, just as moss appears on a north-facing slope. This yellow undertone makes the shade warm, whereas other greens remain cool, which is why it pairs particularly well with wood, clay, and wickerware. Compared to the darker Forest Green, it appears brighter and livelier. Where there are herb pots on the windowsill, this shade is the obvious choice because it picks up that same green.

Absorbent across the entire sink

The hollow structure of the linen fiber conducts water rather than trapping it in a pile like a terry cloth towel. Consequently, the towel remains absorbent even after the twentieth plate and hangs dry on its hook shortly thereafter. This is exactly where the advantage lies over cotton, which becomes saturated and then remains clammy. Three towels used in rotation can therefore cover a whole week of cooking, baking, and drying dishes.

A cloth that accompanies your baking day

Placed over a bowl of rising dough, linen retains warmth while allowing air to pass through, because the fabric breathes rather than sealing it off. The dough does not form a skin and is still protected, something terry cloth cannot achieve. Later, flour washes out of the smooth fabric without a trace. Even a cooled loaf of bread wrapped in it stays fresh significantly longer than it ever would in a plastic bag.

Dyed and tested according to OEKO-TEX Standard 100

Dyes on a cloth that touches wet dishes and sometimes fruit daily should be checked. Linen Tales therefore has the fabric tested according to Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX, with every yarn checked for harmful residues. The raw material bears the EUROPEAN FLAX seal, which requires Western European cultivation and documented origin. Everything is woven and sewn in Lithuania.

Machine wash at 40 degrees, without fabric softener

Wash the linen tea towel on a gentle cycle at 40 degrees and spin at a maximum of 600 rpm so that the fiber does not warp. Use a mild detergent without bleach; otherwise, the Moss Green will lose its depth over the years. Fabric softener is unnecessary because this linen becomes softer on its own, and a film around the fiber would compromise its absorbency. Air-dried and smoothed out while damp, the towel requires no iron afterward.
