Questions about ORO Olive Oil – extra virgin olive oil?

We are happy to help you with Azienda Guerrieri.

Guerrieri ORO, mild extra virgin olive oil from Le Marche

Guerrieri ORO is the mild extra virgin olive oil from Azienda Guerrieri in the Italian region of Le Marche, crafted from Leccino olives. Delicate, fruity, and with only a gentle peppery finish, it is a harmonious oil for every day, from salads to the frying pan.

Guerrieri ORO is the mild extra virgin olive oil from Azienda Guerrieri in the Le Marche region of Italy, pressed from Leccino olives. In a 500 ml bottle with gold lettering on the label, it is a smooth, fruity oil for daily cooking, versatile enough for both table and stove. Its rounded, balanced character is sure to surprise.

Mild, fruity, and delicate on the finish

ORO represents the gentle side of the Guerrieri estate. On bread, it proves fruity, harmonious, and unobtrusive, with a fine olive note and just a slight hint of spice at the end.

Leccino is one of the most widely grown olive varieties in Central Italy, valued for its resistance to cold and its mild, low-bitterness oil. Where varieties like Frantoio or Moraiolo lean toward bold, peppery flavors, Leccino remains reserved, with notes of fresh grass and a hint of ripe almond.

Harvesting takes place in autumn, usually between late October and mid-November, as soon as the olives turn from green to purple. It is pressed cold and quickly after harvesting so the fruit retains its aroma instead of losing it while waiting. The short time between tree and press is particularly important for mild oils like this, as there is little to hide behind such gentleness.

From the Guerrieri family in Le Marche

Azienda Guerrieri, located in Italy’s Le Marche region, has farmed its 207 hectares along the Metauro river since around 1800, now in its 6th generation under Luca Guerrieri and his children, Alberto and Maria Giulia. Since 2004, the family estate has practiced environmentally friendly farming, avoiding chemical fertilizers.

In addition to their wines and pasta, the family also produces this olive oil with a deep connection to nature and a genuine love for the land. The olive groves are situated between the estate’s vineyards and wheat fields, so the harvest times for grapes, wheat, and olives rotate throughout the year rather than overlapping. Around 40 permanent employees keep the operation running across all three harvests.

Those looking to discover the entire range can find wine, pasta, and honey in the Azienda Guerrieri collection.

In the kitchen

A mild oil like ORO is an all-around talent in the kitchen, whether used raw over a dish or warm in the pot. Because it does not overpower, it pairs perfectly with dishes where other ingredients are meant to take center stage.

It best unfolds its delicate fruity notes over leafy salads, steamed vegetables, white fish, and tomato soup. It is also well-suited for sautéing onions or garlic for a sauce, as its mild nature does not mask other flavors. Whenever a good olive oil is needed without obscuring the original flavors, Guerrieri ORO is the right choice.

Those who prefer a bolder, grassier, and greener profile can turn to the Guerrieri VERDE from the same harvest but a different selection of olives. Together, they offer a range of olive oil profiles from mild to spicy.

Light and heat are the greatest enemies

ORO should be kept in a cool, dark place—but not in the refrigerator—and the 500 ml bottle should be closed tightly after every use. Light and heat are a quality olive oil’s greatest enemies, even more so than time itself.

A few drops drizzled raw over a finished dish bring out its fine fruity notes most beautifully—whether on a slice of warm bread, over fresh burrata, or as a final touch on a plate of pasta al pomodoro.
