The Prisecco Weißduftig is one of the classics from the Jörg Geiger Manufactory. Alcohol-free and sparkling, pleasantly dry, yet wonderfully fruity, chilled it is a good alternative to sparkling wine as an aperitif or wine as a food accompaniment.

Weißduftig alcohol-free – sparkling like Secco

The Prisecco Weißduftig is one of the 4 classics from the Jörg Geiger Prisecco Manufactory that are available all year round. Rotfruchtig, Weißduftig, Apfelsinfonie and Rosenzauber were the first Prisecco varieties from the manufactory and are still among the top sellers today.

The basis for the Prisecco Weißduftig is the juice of hand-picked old apple and pear varieties from traditional orchards on the Swabian Alb. This is joined by grape and peach juice, as well as elderflowers and all kinds of different herbs, such as fresh lemon verbena, southernwood, savory, pineapple sage and rosemary, all from the herb expert Dieter Gaissmayer from Illterissen, who is the patron of this creation. Refined with spices and added carbon dioxide, an alcohol-free drink of the extra class is created. In the glass, a bright honey yellow with sun-yellow reflections. On the nose, ripe apples and fragrant elderflowers, with subtle, slightly spicy notes of thyme and the other herbs in the background. On the palate, it shows notes of sweetness carried by apple, grape and peach fruit, which form an exciting arc to the herbaceous-spicy apple acidity and end in a long elderflower aftertaste. A fragrant aperitif and a great accompaniment to goat cheese with rosemary and honey, summer salads with grilled peach and chicken, desserts with elderflower and exotic fruits.

Prisecco – from the Jörg Geiger Manufactory

The PriSecco is the best-selling specialty of the Jörg Geiger Manufactory. Sophisticated and balanced, the Weißduftig surprises with enormous complexity. The lack of alcohol is not perceived as a deficiency, quite the opposite. PriSecco fills a gap of new, modernly designed alcohol-free drinks based on old fruit varieties. The old apple and cider pear varieties come from the landscape-defining traditional orchards along the bird sanctuary at the foot of the Swabian Alb – hand-picked, ripened and gently processed, in Jörg Geiger's manufactory, who has already received several awards (including from Slow Food) for his juices. Due to their pronounced aroma, with the unique acidity of old apple varieties and the emphasized tannin note of the pear, these juices form a very special, natural basis for the Geiger Prisecco varieties. The alcohol-free Prisecco Weißduftig from the Jörg Geiger Manufactory tastes wonderfully of grape, peach and lemon. The hand-picked elderflowers and other fragrant and medicinal herbs make this alcohol-free cocktail something very special: Sparkling like champagne and just as stimulating, Jörg Geiger has made his Prisecco. And thus represents a good alcohol-free alternative to an aperitif.

We have known the owner of the Geiger Manufactory, Jörg Geiger, personally for many years. The Prisecco Manufactory is located in Schlat near Göppingen, where I myself spent a few years. Jörg Geiger started making alcohol-free fruit-based cocktails more as a hobby. In the meantime, he has built up a lot of knowledge about the preparation of this alcohol-free specialty. Regional fruits and wonderful herbs create this incomparable taste of Prisecco Weißduftig. And in addition to top gastronomy, where his Prisecco is often served as an alcohol-free aperitif and thus as an alternative to Prosecco, he has also convinced Slow Food. Of course, the Prisecco Weißduftig should not be missing from our range either.
