The Prisecco Cuvée No. 8 from Manufaktur Jörg Geiger is an alcohol-free Prisecco with the fresh scent of apples and gooseberries and fresh hints of meadow herbs. Alcohol-free and sparkling, pleasantly dry, yet incredibly fruity, it is a great aperitif for everyone at the table when served well-chilled, and makes an excellent food companion.

Prisecco Cuvée No. 8 – Gooseberry, unripe apple, and Douglas fir tips

The basis for this Cuvée No. 8 by Jörg Geiger is formed by old apple and pear varieties from meadow orchards and the finest gooseberry juice. This PriSecco has been refined with various spices and blossoms, such as Douglas fir tips, bronze fennel, borage, and yarrow. It captivates with its lush red gooseberry fruit on the nose, rounded off by the pleasant sweetness and richness of cider pears, as well as the slightly lively acidity structure of the old apple varieties. Fresh acidity and pleasant sweetness create a harmony that ends in a spicy, herbal finish.

The Prisecco Cuvée No. 8 pairs excellently with Asian cuisine, sushi, sashimi, appetizer combinations with leaf salads and cream cheese, as well as berry-fruity desserts or pastries.

The PriSecco is the best-selling specialty from Manufaktur Jörg Geiger. Sophisticated and balanced, all Prisecco varieties surprise with their enormous complexity. The lack of alcohol is not perceived as a deficiency; on the contrary. PriSecco fills a gap for new, modern, alcohol-free beverages based on old fruit varieties. The old apple and cider pear varieties come from the landscape-shaping meadow orchards along the bird sanctuary at the foot of the Swabian Alb – hand-picked, ripened, and processed with care at the Jörg Geiger manufactory, which has already received several awards (including from Slow Food) for its juices. Due to their distinct aromatics, the acidity of old apple varieties, and the pronounced tannin notes of the pears, these juices form a very special, natural foundation for the Geiger Prisecco varieties.

We have known the owner of the Geiger manufactory, Jörg Geiger, personally for many years. The Prisecco manufactory is located in Schlat near Göppingen, where I lived myself for several years. Jörg Geiger began making fruit-based alcohol-free cocktails more as a hobby. He now possesses a wealth of knowledge about the preparation of this alcohol-free specialty, about old fruit varieties, and the use of herbs.
