Manufaktur Jörg Geiger 35° Grad Sauvignon Blanc Mirabelle Blossom is a dry, non-alcoholic food companion made from dealcoholized white wine, refined with gooseberry and mirabelle plum juice, and herbal and floral extracts.

Through the combination of dealcoholized Sauvignon Blanc with gooseberry and mirabelle juice, as well as dealcoholized partially fermented apple wine, a white-fragrant bouquet dominates. With this base, plus pear juice refined with herbal and floral extracts and spices, Jörg Geiger recreates a beverage reminiscent of a fragrant white wine.

How the 35° Sauvignon Blanc tastes:

The 35 Grad Sauvignon Blanc Mirabelle Blossom has a fragrance of light grape, juicy mirabelle plums, elderflower, and green gooseberry, with peppery, vegetal notes. On the palate, it is dry with a fine-tart, herbal impression and notes of green apple. Thus, the non-alcoholic 35 Grad Sauvignon Blanc Mirabelle Blossom is an excellent food companion for fine salads, spring vegetables like asparagus, herb cream cheese, fish and crustaceans, as well as light dishes with white poultry, and serves as a dry alternative to white wine without alcohol. Recommended serving temperature 8-10 degrees.

Non-alcoholic food companion – Jörg Geiger's "Grad-Wanderung"

GRAD°WANDERUNG (Degree Hike) is the name of the new non-alcoholic line from Manufaktur Jörg Geiger, which offers four dry beverages made from dealcoholized wine refined with herbs, blossoms, and spices. Through refinement with juices and herbal extracts, a significantly more complex and diverse beverage is created than a purely dealcoholized drink—a wine without alcohol—could ever be.

After all, Manufaktur Jörg Geiger possesses 20 years of experience in the non-alcoholic sector, including its own dealcoholization plant since 2021, and works exclusively with natural raw materials and products. For example, these still food companions are neither artificially sweetened nor deacidified.

First, the Sauvignon Blanc white wine is gently dealcoholized. Gentle means extracting the alcohol at minimal temperatures over maximum time. How low the temperature can be depends on the alcohol content of the wine used. The Riesling is dealcoholized at 32°C, the Rosé at 33°C, the Sauvignon Blanc at 35°C, and the Grenache at 36°C. The temperature, therefore, acted as the inspiration for naming this new non-alcoholic line.

Why is the GRAD°WANDERUNG not a “real” non-alcoholic wine?

Despite all efforts, Jörg Geiger believes that pure dealcoholized wine does not live up to high-quality standards and the associated expectations. Although natural wine aromas are recaptured through aroma recovery, the part bound to the alcohol is inevitably lost, leading to a sensory change. For him, non-alcoholic wine remained a sacrifice, and not just of alcohol. Therefore, inventor and affineur Jörg Geiger sees dealcoholized wine merely as a welcome base to create new non-alcoholic beverages with less sweetness and a new variety of fermentation aromas. With the wealth of experience from over 20 years of "rethinking non-alcoholic," based on the use of around 200 dry spices, 70 freshly harvested herbs, 20 blossoms, and self-produced hydrolats, he succeeds in creating still, dry, and non-alcoholic food companions. Jörg Geiger removes the alcohol and adds juice, herbs, blossoms, and spices. The alcohol content is generally 0.3% and always remains below the legal definition of "non-alcoholic" of <0.5% vol.
