The Manufaktur Jörg Geiger 33° Pinot Meunier Dornfelder Mostbirne is a dry, non-alcoholic alternative to rosé wine, refined with apple, pear, and grape juice, as well as herbal and floral extracts, making it a dry, alcohol-free companion to food.

Through the combination of dealcoholized Pinot Meunier and Dornfelder with perry (Mostbirne), grape, and apple juice, along with cherry, currant, blackberry, and blueberry juice, a red-fruited bouquet dominates. Using this base, which is further refined with herbs and spices, Jörg Geiger recreates a beverage reminiscent of a rosé or light red wine.

The 33° Pinot Meunier Dornfelder Mostbirne has the aroma of dark grapes, juicy red fruits, and ripe berries. On the palate, it is dry with a fine, tart, spicy impression with notes of hay and pepper. This makes the non-alcoholic 33° Pinot Meunier Dornfelder Mostbirne a great food pairing for oriental salads, grilled summer vegetables, antipasti, quick-seared light meat or fish, and crispy chicken. GRAD°WANDERUNG (Degree Walk) is the name of the new non-alcoholic line from Manufaktur Jörg Geiger, which offers four dry beverages made from dealcoholized wine refined with herbs, blossoms, and spices. Through this refinement with juices and herbal extracts, a significantly more complex and diverse beverage is created than would be possible with a purely dealcoholized beverage or a wine without alcohol.

After all, Manufaktur Jörg Geiger possesses 20 years of experience in the non-alcoholic sector, including its own dealcoholization facility since 2021, and works exclusively with natural raw materials and products. For example, these still food companions are neither artificially sweetened nor deacidified.

First, the red wine is gently dealcoholized. Gentle means extracting the alcohol with minimal temperature increase but maximum time. How low the temperature can be depends on the alcohol content of the wine used. The Riesling is dealcoholized at 32°C, the Rosé at 33°C, the Sauvignon Blanc at 35°C, and the Grenache at 36°C. The temperature therefore served as the inspiration for naming this new non-alcoholic line.

Why is the GRAD°WANDERUNG not a "proper" non-alcoholic wine?

Despite all efforts, Jörg Geiger believes that pure dealcoholized wine does not live up to high-quality standards and the associated expectations. Although natural wine aromas are recaptured through aroma recovery, the part bound to the alcohol is inevitably lost, leading to a sensory change. For him, non-alcoholic wine therefore remained a compromise, and not just in terms of alcohol. This is why tinkerer and affineur Jörg Geiger views dealcoholized wine merely as a welcome base to create new non-alcoholic beverages with less sweetness and a new variety of fermentation aromas. With the wealth of experience from over 20 years of "rethinking non-alcoholic," based on the use of around 200 dry spices, 70 freshly harvested herbs, 20 blossoms, and self-produced hydrolats, he succeeds in creating still, dry, and alcohol-free food companions. Jörg Geiger removes the alcohol and adds juice, herbs, blossoms, and spices. The alcohol content is generally 0.3% and always remains below the legal "non-alcoholic" definition of <0.5% vol. For this reason, Manufaktur Geiger uses the international label "Alcohol removed."
