Prisecco Cuvée No. 31 – Green tea, meadow fruit, and garden lemon balm

The base for this Cuvée No. 31 by Jörg Geiger is juice from apples and pears from meadow orchards, as well as a cold infusion of green Darjeeling tea. Darjeeling tea has an unmistakable aroma that can only develop under the specific geographical and climatic conditions of the tea gardens in the Indian Himalayas. This non-alcoholic cocktail captivates with the fresh scent of garden lemon balm and marigolds, combined with slightly tart notes of delicate, floral Darjeeling tea leaves. On the palate, it offers a harmonious, mild interplay of sweetness and acidity, long-lasting tart notes from the green tea, and a mineral, creamy, rounded finish.

The Prisecco Cuvée No. 31 is a fantastic summery aperitif and an ideal companion to Asian-spiced dishes, fish and seafood, and risotto with green asparagus.

PriSecco is the best-selling specialty of the Manufaktur Jörg Geiger. Refined and balanced, all Prisecco varieties surprise with their enormous complexity. The lack of alcohol is not felt as a deficiency; quite the contrary. PriSecco fills a gap for new, modern, non-alcoholic beverages based on old fruit varieties. The old apple and perry pear varieties come from the orchard meadows that define the landscape along the bird sanctuary at the foot of the Swabian Jura—hand-picked, ripened, and gently processed at the Jörg Geiger manufactory, which has already received several awards (including from Slow Food) for its juices. Thanks to their distinct aromatics, the acidity of old apple varieties, and the accentuated tannin notes of the pears, these juices form a very special, natural base for the Geiger Prisecco varieties.

We have known the owner of the Geiger manufactory, Jörg Geiger, personally for many years. The Prisecco manufactory is located in Schlat near Göppingen, where I lived for several years myself. Jörg Geiger began producing fruit-based non-alcoholic cocktails more as a hobby. He has since gained a great deal of knowledge about the preparation of this non-alcoholic specialty, as well as about old fruit varieties and the use of herbs.
