Maritime tea towel with fish in blue
The Fish tea towel from 17;30 is a kitchen towel made of pure cotton with a maritime fish motif in blue, designed in Hamburg and hand-printed. A greeting from the waterfront for every kitchen, from the harbor to the hinterland.
Tea towel with a motif is often called a "piece of the sea" by the people of Hamburg. On a light background, blue fish swim across the kitchen towel, clearly drawn and as maritime as the harbor right on the doorstep. 50 x 70 cm of pure cotton that dries reliably and brings a bit of the North Sea into your kitchen, without any salty air.
Blue fish with Hamburg roots
The fish swim in a calm blue across the light background, a maritime eye-catcher on the towel rack. It suits everyone who loves the water and has a penchant for clear lines.
Applied by hand using screen printing, the motif fits perfectly with the brand's origins, which began on the Elbe with maritime lanyards. Simple, calm, and colorful—that's how the people of Hamburg like their designs. Because each towel passes through the printing process individually, each has its own fine quirk; sometimes a fish swims a shade higher, and that is exactly what makes your piece yours.
The blue is reminiscent of the water one looks down at from the Landungsbrücken piers and brings that mood to your sink.
Drying up with a sea view
The cotton towel absorbs water from glasses, plates, and freshly rinsed fish cutlery without leaving lint. A reliable kitchen towel for every day at the stove.
It can be machine washed at up to 60 degrees; ironed, it lies smooth over the bar and the blue remains vibrant. Pure cotton is the classic among tea towels; it absorbs a lot of water, withstands hot washing, and becomes softer rather than worn out over the years. It comes in handy for a fish dinner when your hands smell of lemon and fresh herbs.
It also performs well beyond drying dishes: draped over a bread basket, it keeps freshly baked bread warm; as a base, it highlights a cheese platter; and thrown over your shoulder, it is always within reach while cooking. This is how the Hamburg blue migrates from the sink to the center of the table.
On the coast, such a towel hangs in every other kitchen, while inland, it brings in a piece of harbor air. Further tea towels are waiting in our kitchen corner if you would like to put together a matching set.
An idea from the Hamburg after-work hours
Behind 17;30 is a team from Hamburg, which Anna Upleger founded on the Elbe in 2010 and which Quinn Upleger leads today.
The brand name refers to the time when the workday ends on the waterfront: 5:30 p.m. The wine was delicious, the mood was magnificent, and from the first leather lanyards, the brand expanded in 2016 to include cards, paper bags, and characterful tea towels. As Quinn Upleger likes to emphasize, a tea towel is not just a tea towel. 100 percent cotton, woven in India, finished in Hamburg using screen printing.
A souvenir for water lovers
Each towel comes individually with a paper band, ready to be gifted without any extra wrapping paper.
