A Hamburg idea from 2010

Behind 17;30 is a team from Hamburg, which Anna Upleger founded on the Elbe in 2010 and which Quinn Upleger manages today.

The brand name refers to the time when the workday ends on the Elbe: 5:30 PM. From the first maritime keychains, they began creating cards, paper bags, and tea towels with character starting in 2016. A tea towel is not just a tea towel, as Quinn Upleger likes to emphasize. 100 percent cotton, woven in India, finished with screen printing in Hamburg.

The wine was delicious, the mood was magnificent, and at exactly 5:30, the decision was made to make beautiful things—that’s how the story of the founding on the Elbe is often told. This lightness is still in every print today, from the cheeky message to the zesty lemon.
