Wool, new wool, or lamb's wool – what is the difference?

Wool is a natural and renewable raw material. This throw is made of 100% lamb's wool. Lamb's wool refers to the wool from a sheep's (very) first shearing, within the first 6 months of life. It is particularly soft because the fibers are still very fine. Like new wool, it is also obtained from living sheep, usually in the spring and as much as possible in one piece. After shearing, the wool is combed and loosened before it is dyed a wonderful blue-green and spun into yarn. The Klippan Stella throws are then woven from this wool. Lamb's wool is said to be barely scratchy, breathable, and has excellent insulating properties. It warms in winter and cools in summer. Klippan does everything possible to ensure the blanket feels soft; for this, the lamb's wool is specially pre-combed. Nevertheless, this quality is naturally scratchier than a cotton blanket would be, and the blanket may shed slightly, especially at the beginning.

The Stella throw can be wonderfully washed at 30 degrees, so you can easily wash your cozy blanket yourself when needed. To ensure you enjoy your wool blanket for a long time, it is best to use a mild wool detergent and avoid fabric softener. Keep in mind that natural wool fat has a self-cleaning effect and you will wash it out little by little with every wash.
