Wool, virgin wool, or lambswool - what's the difference?

Wool is a natural and renewable raw material. This blanket is made of 100% lambswool. Lambswool refers to the wool from the very first shearing of a sheep or lamb, within the first 6 months of its life. It is particularly soft because the fibers are still very fine. Like virgin wool, it is also usually obtained in spring from live sheep, ideally in one piece. After shearing, the wool is combed and loosened before being wonderfully dyed reddish-brown and spun into yarn. The Klippan Stella blankets are then woven from this wool. Lambswool is said to be barely scratchy, breathable, and to have excellent insulating properties. It warms in winter and cools in summer. Klippan does everything to make the blanket feel soft, for this purpose, the lambswool is pre-combed again, but this quality is naturally scratchier than a cotton blanket would be and especially at the beginning, the blanket sheds a little.

The Stella living blanket can be wonderfully washed at 30 degrees, so you can simply wash your cuddly blanket yourself if needed.
