Grüner Veltliner Kamptal 2025, young and fresh in the glass
The 2025 Grüner Veltliner Kamptal from Fred Loimer is a dry organic white wine from the Kamptal region, just bottled. Fresh, salty, precise – the young vintage of a regional wine that represents its area with flying colors.
Grüner Veltliner Kamptal 2025 is the fresh regional wine from the Fred Loimer winery in Langenlois, bottled in March 2026. A classic Grüner Veltliner, dry and pure, with the grape variety's characteristic spicy "pefferl" (peppery note). The perfect everyday wine, best enjoyed young.
Yellow apple, white pepper, a touch of cardamom
On the nose, the young Veltliner smells of dried yellow apples and orange, accompanied by a hint of white pepper and cardamom. With aeration, notes of marigold, clover blossom, and a little lemon confit emerge.
On the palate, it is dry and balanced, with a flattering extract sweetness, juicy and mineral-salty, with a vital pull. With 5.2 g/l acidity and only 1.9 g/l residual sugar, it remains crisp and precise. Pure freshness.
With appetizers and spring salad
Its slim body makes the young Grüner Veltliner Kamptal an effortless choice for an aperitif or appetizer wine.
It pairs beautifully with light vegetables, pan-fried fish, and of course Wiener Schnitzel – the quintessential Kamptal duo. It also pairs delightfully with spring salad and asparagus. Serve at 8 to 10 degrees in a white wine glass. If you prefer a more mature counterpart, opt for the Loiserberg from a first-growth site.
The 2025 vintage, ripened in tranquility
2025 was a friendly vintage in the Kamptal. After a dry winter, the year brought well-distributed rain; flowering began on June 10, and a warm summer lasted until the end of July before August cooled down.
From mid-September to October 10, perfectly healthy grapes with moderate sugar ripeness arrived in the cellar. Thus, the 2025 became a classic Kamptal wine: precise in its aromatics, pure in its fruit, and fresh in its acidity – exactly the moderate style that Fred Loimer values.
60-year-old vines on loess
The grapes grow on vines up to 60 years old around Langenlois, mainly on loess, with a small portion on weathered gneiss. The loess gives the wine its creamy core, while the gneiss provides the salty tension.
Harvested by hand into small 20-kilo crates. After a short or non-existent maceration period, the whole-cluster pressing follows, along with spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The wine matures on the fine lees for four months before being bottled in March 2026 – completely without wood, so that the fruit remains at the forefront.
Fred Loimer farms the vineyards biodynamically; in the respekt-BIODYN association, standards in the vineyard are stricter than what many seals require. More from the estate can be found in our other wines from the Fred Loimer winery and among our dry white wines.
