Tiroler Reine Liquid Soap with Birch Scent from Innsbruck
Tiroler Reine Birch Liquid Soap is an authentic soap, kettle-boiled at the Walde manufactory in Innsbruck—free from synthetic surfactants and dyes, featuring the gentle green scent of freshly sprouted birch leaves. Not an industrial pump soap surfactant mixture, but soap-making craftsmanship since 1777, light-footed as a Tyrolean spring morning.
Tiroler Reine Birch Liquid Soap is a handcrafted liquid soap from the Walde soap manufactory in Innsbruck, boiled using the traditional kettle method from saponified olive oil, coconut oil, and Tyrolean beef tallow. It carries the gentle green scent of the birch—a tree that stands for happiness, feminine beauty, and new beginnings in Tyrol.
Light-footed through the day
Birch smells the way it feels: light-footed, caressing, brightening—a gentle green that doesn't smell like a perfume shop, but like young leaves in May.
Lively, spring-like, invigorating—this is how the liquid soap wakes up the day without being overpowering. You can use it for your hands or take it into the shower; it works for both. The foam remains creamy and fine, and the glycerin from the saponification process provides extra care. In Tyrol, the birch has always been considered a tree of happiness and new beginnings—on February 2nd, Candlemas, farmers used to ring in their working year with birch branches, and to this day, young birch trunks line village streets during the Corpus Christi procession.
Authentic soap in the kettle, without synthetics or dyes
Unlike conventional liquid soaps, Tiroler Reine is a proper soap—made from saponified olive oil, coconut oil, and Tyrolean beef tallow, stirred in kettles without synthetic surfactants.
This makes the difference in the foam: the beef tallow, an old local ingredient, has a replenishing effect, the beeswax ensures a fine consistency, and the glycerin is created naturally during the saponification process.
New this season: all 10 Tiroler Reine liquid soaps now come in 300 ml bottles without any dyes. The familiar green color of the birch soap is now found only on the label; the soap itself is clear, just as it comes out of the kettle. Preservatives and emulsifiers are also left out. Should the soap ever appear cloudy or settle, place it in a warm spot for a moment and shake well—5 minutes in the sun is usually enough.
Therese Fiegl and the Walde family, Innsbruck since 1777
The idea for Tiroler Reine came to Therese Fiegl on her daily walk through the old town of Innsbruck, which led past the Walde soap manufactory on Innstraße—"through a cloud of soap scent like in the days of our grandparents."
Therese, who has been building Tyrolean brands since 1997 and is also behind the Tiroler Edle chocolates, joined forces with Peter Walde. In 2010, the Tiroler Reine series was launched—10 scents, each soap with its own story, from glacier milk and hay to stone pine and elderflower. To this day, it is produced at the Walde manufactory, founded in 1777 on the banks of the Inn—Austria's oldest family business, now run by Peter and his son Lukas Walde in the 7th and 8th generations.
"The spirit must not be lost," says Peter Walde, and so many things are still done by hand: mixing, stirring, cold-pressing, extruding, pouring, bottling, and packing. You can find the entire soap and care line from the Walde manufactory bundled with us—and if you grow fond of the birch, it is also available as a solid soap bar and as a solid hair shampoo for the whole family. A lovely gesture for Father's Day, by the way.
Apply to damp hands, rinse with warm water
The gentle green scent of Tiroler Reine Birch Liquid Soap lets the morning begin brightly—apply to damp hands, lather briefly, and rinse with warm water. For showering, 2 to 3 pumps are sufficient. You can screw the matching Tiroler Reine pump dispenser onto any 300 ml bottle. Store in a cool place away from direct sunlight so the birch scent lasts as long as possible. Make washing your hands a beautiful experience.
